Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)

OLEV-APPROVED ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) CHARGING POINT INSTALLER

What is the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS)?

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) allows businesses, charities, and public sector organisations to claim money off the purchase and installation of EV charging points. The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OZEV) will contribute £350 for each charging point (up to a maximum of 40) for organisations in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Is my business eligible for the Workplace Charging Scheme Grant?

Businesses are eligible for the Workplace Charging Scheme Grant if they are a registered business, charity, or public sector organisation based in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. Businesses must have dedicated off-street parking and have a current or future need for electric vehicle charging points.

Do you work from home? If your place of work is also your home, you can apply for the grant under this scheme as long as your address is listed as your place of business with Companies House or HMRC.

How to Apply for the Workplace Charging Scheme?

Applicants first discuss their needs with an authorised Workplace Charging Scheme installer, who will conduct a site survey to assess the feasibility of installing charging points. The applicant then applies for the Workplace Charging Scheme grant using the online application form. A unique identification grant voucher code will be issued that can then be shared with any OZEV-authorised Workplace Charging Scheme installer who will claim the £350 grant on their behalf.
